Leaf Pick Up
Leaf burning is prohibited in the city limits of Jacksonville.
Each fall, the City provides free leaf pick up for its residents. The Municipal Services Department picks up bagged leaves placed curbside by 8:00 a.m. on specified pick up days, usually in November. Only bagged leaves will be picked up in either paper or plastic bags. The leaf vacuum will no longer run on ditch streets.
The 2022 leaf pick up begins Tuesday, November 1, 2022 and continues through the entire month of November. Please call the Municipal Services Department at 217-479-4653 for further assistance regarding the leaf pick up program.
Buster Sanitation Services will also pick up yard waste, including branches, grass clippings and leaves. Paper yard waste bags or trash containers are required (no plastic bags). Residents must purchase a sticker to place on each bag or can at a cost of $3.50. Stickers are available at various locations throughout Jacksonville. For additional information and pick up days, contact Buster Sanitation at 217-245-7204.
